| |
The Economic Research Forum for the Arab Countries, Iran and Turkey (ERF) was established in June of 1993, with assistance from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the European Commission, the Ford Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Bank, subsequently followed by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada.
ERF is an independent, nongovernment, nonprofit organization. It initiates and funds policy-relevant economic research, publishes and disseminates the results of research activity to scholars, policymakers, and the business community.
It functions as a resource base for researchers through its databank and documentation library. ERF does not conduct research in-house but, rather, acts as a research network, clearing-house, and facilitator.
The site archives past newsletters, working papers and publications produced under the ERF. Some of recent papers are available on-line (in either pdf format or html). Most of the research reports focus on the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) area. |
